no really

I have no religious questions

the question:

why do people put main tennets of their faith into a question we must "google" in a lame attempt for others to do self discovery and possibly convert them?

what religion besides buddhism mandates you don't evangelize?

I think it's Judaism, surprisingly, converts are to come on their own when they are ready

oh well, 3000 point bench mark, worth nothing, especially to my wife who says Y!Answers is like butt sniffers

why? opinions are like buttholes, we all got them, so why am I like the dogs who sniff each others butts?

good one, Prof Lee

I think she would actually hug you for suggesting what she has said all along

I have put Y!Answers down for a while, I only do it in 50 pt increments

-others- I SAID to NOT evangelize, read the question again and slow down

The best advice you could be given is, "listen and learn." Try not to talk so much. It gets in the way of your listening.

I think the main reason so many people come in here is to see that there are other people who see things the same way that they do.

Anyone of any faith or lack thereof can come in here and find an agreeable fellow.

I've explored a lot & Buddism makes the most sense to me. I'm agnostic, but I appreciate your question. Reincarnation is the only thing which would explain to me why babies in Iraq are being injured & killed. Maybe Bush will come back like that. His whole family!

Didn't understand the q. at all, but I'll be darned if I'm gonna spend that much time reading a q. w/o getting 2 pts.

well...

IT'S NOT IN MY AUTHORITY OR PLACE TO CONVERT PEOPLE. I SHOW THEM THE LOVE OF GOD AND LET GOD SHOW THEM HIS TRUE MERCY AND PURPOSE FOR THEM.

I was not CONVERTED. I was SAVED.

Hoorah.

Evangelizing is not going out and telling people they're dirty sinners and will go to hell.

We all deserve that.

It's telling them that God loves them, and praying for them, and showing them what God has done in us.

Christianity is a religion that men can corrupt, but God is unchangeable!

:)

I would be interested in references from Buddhist Scriptures that show the mandate you mention.

Judaism used to prosletyze more so in the past than in recent years...
