Well, you are on the wrong road to Christmas. You should remember that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas. Your Girlfriend is right in going to Church to worship on Christmas Eve, and you are wrong if you blow off the Lord just to make some drinks. 500 bucks seems like a lot, but the Bible says that God hates those who are too choosy with money. It tells of a two rich men who give little of their money, and a poor person giving much of her small savings to the church. Money is not that important, considering that God is the creator, and will help you through times regardless of how much money you have. Try to like Church, or suggest going to a different Church, because some Churches are not always as interesting as you might want. When you say mass, I assume you are Catholic. If the Catholic way of life is too hard to follow, try to go to a protestant church. You will discover many new things by going to Church, and will be overcome by the glory of the Lord. Basically, don't go to work on Christmas Eve, but instead go to Church. Suggest to your Girlfriend that you go to another church, because God sees everybody, no matter what religion, as equal. Try to go to church every week, and live a life with God in the lead.

Usually there is a Christmas Eve mass earlier in the day, ask her if you guys could go to that one. Explain the loss of money and that you still want to attend, however an earlier service would be best. If not then decide how much the money means to you and how badly you need it, if you do then skip church and go to work.

First off, it won't "cost" you anything to go... you just won't make that money.

What you failed to mention was how long you have been dating? Do you go to church regularly? or is this just because it's Christmas Eve?

You need to talk this over with your girlfriend and make a decision together. Can you go into work after church? Can you work before the service? etc....

Try to do both things if you can... if not, make a decision based on LOVE, not MONEY!

Wow that is a tricky one. I say do your thing and work. CHruch is all the time..... you can go with her another time.....but you dont get to many chances make 500 bucks on one night ......too often. And if she really wants to be with you on CHristmas Eve she would just go to your bar instead

Go to church and you could be blessed with more than $500 in other ways or means.

That would depend of how much you care about the wishes and beliefs of your girlfriend.

also you could compromise and go to Mass either early or on Christmas Day.

Depends on how involved you are
with her. It could cost you a whole
lot more by not going. As far as money,
News Year's eve is only around the
corner.

That would depend I guess on how serious you are about the girlfriend. Those kinds of memories are really special to a girl...but, depending on your financial situation, that takes consideration too. Does she know your potential income loss is that much? Tell her and then see what she says to do.
