When he burps it smells like rotten stomach acid and it is so terrible, it will clear a room in about 2 seconds. It is the most rancid odor I have ever smelled and it lingers until you want to vomit. When he passes flatus, it has the same rotten odor and the smell permeates his pants and the odor follows him around. I almost wonder if he has some kind of cancer or something rotting on his insides. He burps and passes gas constantly and it is so nauseating. I am always afraid he will do it in a public place with me and shame me terribly. He has been doing this for about 4 months now. I asked him to tell his doctor about it, and he made it sound like it wasnt a problem. Its severe. I will not sleep with him until he is examined for what the heck is wrong with him. I am a RN and have smelled a lot of odors, but never anything this rotten. I have smelled rotten, bubbling wounds, bowel obstructions in vomit and all kinds of stuff, but this is the worst. What do you think is wrong?

He had pancreatic failure and shock in ICU from triglycerides over 5000 a couple of years ago, and I wonder if this all has something to do with his organ failure. He was vomiting every day for about a year and finally has stopped. It is not norma. He would have done it all along. He constantly belches and burps over and over. I am talking 100-150 times a day.

I would think that he has digestive problems that required eating yogurt or taking probiotics until I read about the pancreatitis. Now I'm guessing he has liver failure or a permanently damaged pancreas that causes him not to correctly digest his food. Maybe pancreatic enzymes taken with meals might help but he really needs to be willing to see a Dr and work on his problems before the damage is done and it is too late for him. Are you sure he is telling you everything he knows about his health problems? If he is your boyfriend and he is unwilling to get help, then maybe it is sayonara time.
