You can easily make the desserts and crescents ahead of time. Take the rolls out a minute or two early and give 'em a quick finishing bake just before serving. You can also do your potatoes now if you spread them in a baking dish (I use a 13x9 cake pan) and cover with a good coat of butter or margarine to 'seal them in'. They'll keep up to a week in the fridge and you reheat by baking them for 30-45 minute at 350. They actually taste better done like this also! You can get the salad prepped except for the dressing ahead of time also. An old restaurant trick with pasta is to store perfectly al dente pasta in the cooler and reheat for 30 seconds in boiling water for service, no one would ever know except that they'll all be in the kitchen watching you cook if your family is typical.
If you follow all these tips the only 'real' cooking you'll have to do is the birds!

What will I be cooking this year? Not much! Family is all gone now and thanks to mama nature it appears I'll be spending the entire holiday in a hotel.
