She hasn't mated before, but I have noticed she has got thinner. Is this normal when coming into season?

I'm glad it was your entire cat and not half of it. That would be bad.

Sorry for the sarcasm. Get her spayed and then she will stop howling. I just got my own cat spayed 3 weeks ago.

Go forth and prevent any future strays.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing! Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

Hi Kitty, Get her spayed asap or you will end up with a litter of unwanted kittens. If she stops calling it probably means that she will have mated. As for weight loss, make sure she is wormed. A call to the vet would be a good idea - but not on Christmas Day. All the best

My cat started calling for a mate while its head was still only six months old. Had no chance of pulling looking like that! Most of her is now 18 months but her feet are still to catch up

In regards to the getting thinner, have you tried feeding her?

Most likely ur cat iz calling (for a mate). The weight loss iz very unusual, my advice is u take her to a stud service to be mated but if u dont want kittens then u should have her neutered.

Try changin her food to different can foods & different dry foodz.
Also try giving her cat milk (not our milk) u can buy cat milk from ur local supermarket.

If this hasnt fixed her weight loss problemz, take her to a vet.

Hope this helped,
Merry Christmas

Not sure about the getting thinner but it sounds like your cat is in heat. When a female cat gets this way she will do things like yowling. If you get her spayed this will stop the behavior and she won't go into heat anymore.

Does that mean that some parts of your cat werent a year old while others werent? lol

In winter cats coats do not thin but the hair flattens to keep them warm. A sure sign of telling if you cat is on heat is by pressing down on their shoulder blades. If she lifts her backside up and her back paws go back and forth (in a paddling motion) shes in heat.Calling out doesnt neccesairly mean shes on heat, just looking for company

Kitty UK
Your cat could well be in heat, if she is a year old. As for being thin, the missed meals, travel and fights with other cats take their toll. If you care about your feline please please get her to a Veterinary Surgeon and fix her. The healthy benefits will include a lesser chance of cancer as well as few infections. That rabies shot and boosters you put off can be done while your there,as well as a check for parasites. As for a mate, that relationship wont last... i guarantee it! /Cheers!

Have the cat checked at the vet, if you're concerned about the weight issue. And please get the cat fixed, as it is going to go into heat after 6 months of age.

Not from my experience. Now, if they are running about outside, weight loss can happen due to wandering about for compaionship.

When in doubt, call up your vet. Usually they will be glad to give you an answer over the phone.
