try to catch thing with its teeth instead of claws? My mom's cat isn't declaw, but when I try to shake string in front of it, it use its mouth more than its paws to try catch the string. What's up with this?

hey that is just a cat thing your cat just like think in its mouth i have 7 cats and each one plays diff.he or she is just playing the way it wasn't..some like to play tug a war to funny lol good luck keep playing with your moms cat some cats dint even play.from one animal lover to another

It is just your cats personality. I have had a cat who drank water with its paws. It's not abnormal and cats do like to carry things around in their mouth like dogs do. I have a cat which is declawed and it still trys to get things with its paws so it isn't the fact of declawed or not. Just enjoy that your moms cat is different.

teeth catch tighter. For example, if it was a mouse or bird, the claws wouldn't capture the animal, just scratch it, or even sometimes the claws will break. The cat does not differentiate your string from a live prey.

Ok first of all,cats are weird,and second of all you need to show it that it should try with it's claws instead of mouth,cause sometimes it will hurt it and them it will have no teeth,how old is it? I hope that helps.

if he is an indoor cat, he just wants to taste the hunt, if hes never caught a mouse or bird, he is just going off instinct, my cat did the same thing till he caught himself a mouse, then he didnt play at all anymore.

I think it's normal. Cats will try to "bite" at objects you're shaking in front of them, as well as swat at them.

First of all, catz aren't weird & ur mumz cat iznt bein weird either. All catz hav different personalities, & they all hav different wayz of playin & eating & everythin.
