Call an emergency vet. Always check with a vet before giving a dog any medication not specifically prescribed for it.

Yes, but you should take into consideration the size of your dog.

I ususally use the Pepto caplets because they are easier to give a dog.

Other things that help is cut back on the food (at least half) until he feels a little better. It will just go right through him otherwise.

My old dog wouldn't eat for three days and had diarrhea. I took him to the vet and my vet sent me to the store for Pepto. The dose though is individual to your dog.

Find an emergency vet (anywhere) and call for the dose. If you like I can give you the number of the emergency vet by me (I'm in the US) so you can call them and ask if you can't find anyone else.

My vet said that it was okay to give my cocker spaniel (she weighs about 23 lbs) half of a pepto tablet with an antibiotic. She had a fever and an upset stomach at the time.

Yes you most definitely can!! The vet has told me that and I have also read it in a dog remedy book. I also have used it about have a dozen dogs and nothing happened to them. By way of experience, I no longer use the liquid form. It can cause a mess. I have bought it in pill form for sometime now and it is so much easier to give. I always check with my vet before I ever give my dogs any thing. NEVER would I cause any harm to them.

I did some checking on google and someone said that their vet had recommended it. The dose would be the same for a child of equal weight.

One caveat: not if diarrhea and upset stomach are accompanied by heavy bleeding or tarry stool though.

Dogs can take Pepto, but for bad diarrhea, Kaopectate is better. Here's a first aid link. If he's a huge breed and weighs as much as an adult human, then I would dose him at the adult rate. Otherwise, I'd give him a fraction of the adult dose.

immodium is an OTC human medicine that helps with the diarrhea, according to my vet. You can get it at CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
