I'm not talking just anger, God displayed many emotional outbursts, including disgust, impatience, remorse (for having created the human race), jealously, rage, etc.

Many of you people believe this is an all-powerful, all-knowing being. If so what's the deal with these emotions? And in some cases God appears to display immature attitudes.

Those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, please don't bother to answer. Those of you who want clarification, I willl be happy to come back with the question once again rephrased and also cite Biblical references so you can look them up.

good question, why did the Goddess act as if on PMS?

killing and intollerance can't possibly be attributed to any divine being

I think it was clever people using the idea of religion and a "god"/"goddess" to mislead others

it's been a long and faithful old standby to control others, especially those without education and good parenting

Those emotions are all signs of immaturity and over emotionalism, and more a reflection on the prehistoric person that wrote the old testament. There are all vivid proof of the true authorship of the scriptures. If any God can show discipline and emotional maturity, why should we show it any faith? We do have the right to judge these religions, and make intelligent decisions on their true origins.

Who's interested in ancient history, especially that which is probably distorted. God has always communicated with humanity on a level of their understanding. you and I, all humanity has evolved throughout history. Is what you cite what God actually said or did or is it not SOMEONES interpetation of what God said or did. I have no real knowledge of the mentality of those you speak of, but i doubt they would have the slightest comprehension of what you are saying, but I'll bet they learned whatever God wanted them to learn at the time. The mind and emotions are unconditional love divided by humanities concepts of duality. God is undivided unconditional love. The human yardstick can not measure GOD.

Well simple, that is an allegory an interpretation of the Laws of karma. To even think of God in that form is unworthy. The bible is allegory people. Gnostic Christians didn't even read the Old testament, they called the Old testament God a false god of this world. Said he is deranged and crazy and has nothing to do with "God" in general. It's not a history book.

First of all, there is no human brain on this earth that can understand the mind or power of God, The big G to the O to the D....number one.... created us, so this great power can do whatever he likes. (I am refering to God as he, because it does so in the bible). The old testament was a time period before God gave us Jesus. Jesus brought us forgiveness. In the old testament God had decided that humans should follow his commandments and if they failed to do so he would remove them from the face of the earth. In the new testament he made a new covenent with mankind, offering his son Jesus to wash away sins and give us a second chance, basically forgiving us time and time again. You will notice that after Jesus, God never again came to earth struck a man down as he did in the old testament. My advice is that we dont try and figure out all of the things of God. He has given us all the answers we need to live this life. The bible tells us what is important to know about him and understand about his ways. Beyond this, our little human minds can not handle much mor. So before we go figuring out God and beyond, we should concentrate ourselves in the goings on of this earth (which we are failing at misearably). In the meantime it would be wise, )knowing that we dont understand all there is to know about God or the great task of being God), that we not refer to the maker of this earth and the reason we are all breathing as emotional and immature! Thank God (literally) that he doesnt break covenants...because if he did as he did in the old testament he might just be coming to strike the person down that called him immature and emotional. Thank God for JESUS!!!

there's a 4th threat. they're certainly a similar God basically misunderstood and falsely characterised via unbelievers. the two look distinctive no longer because of the fact they're distinctive gods, yet because of the fact they're distinctive covenants. What did the previous covenant promise? Gods blessing/risk-free practices bodily. What did the recent covenant promise? non secular grace and mercy! For the regulation became given via Moses; grace and certainty got here via Jesus Christ. -John a million:17 as properly that Jesus shown the regulation and the prophets! so they couldnt probably be 2 separate gods. That basically isnt what Scripture teaches in any respect. Is God evil for punishing sin bodily? No. have been human beings punished previous testomony type in the NT? definite!! 4Didn't it belong to you till now it became bought? And after it became bought, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of of doing this variety of element? you haven't any longer lied to men yet to God." 5When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And super worry seized all who heard what had surpassed off. -Acts 5:4 right this moment, because of the fact Herod did no longer provide compliment to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he became eaten via worms and died. -Acts 12:23 How approximately in Revelation whilst hes going to pour out the bowls of wrath on earth? Is that loving and fuzzy? How approximately hell? many human beings basically dont understand Scripture from the loud mouth blasphemer that publicizes God is evil from the OT, to the peacenik hippie that publicizes the NT is all approximately love and peace. God is who he's. Scripture appropriately shows him yet basically authentic believers have confidence adequate to study and somewhat understand who God is and what hes going to do.

the God of the old testament was jealous vengefully cruel
He played favourites turned the Pharaohs heart cold so that he could then visit plagues on the Egyptians to show his strength.
He destroyed cities with war and fire. the first genocide of all history is in the book of David with Gods approval.

He made up so many rules that no one could follow them.

He was a God to be feared.
a God of war .
Which makes Jesus very puzzling.
He is message was Love and forgive even your enemies .
that is a message that is so profound that even today it cannot be understood.
that's why you didn't understand my other question.
much love to you my brother and peace

I answered your other similar question, and I agree with the answer ahead of mine. It was written in story form, and the true "message" for those who search is hidden in the allegory of the story. Story form was very common place in those acient days, and messages were hidden in parables and myths as common place. That is why is seems so contradictory in many places.

good luck figuring out this human like god.....and I agree with you it seems silly once you read it all. But I think that is the beginning of seeing the truth, you have to start to go with what the "god" in you says is correct, and that means questioning this "human" like God in the bible and start searching for bigger deeper meanings. again, good luck, you are on the path.

God IS emotional. And we are made in His image. This should not be surprising. The difference is, He is not sinful when He gets emotional.

Not sure about immature behavior. What were you thinking of?

because people wrote the old testament and they were only sophisticated enough to write by analogy etc. these great superstitions remain strong and are passed on compounded the ongoing errors over a few thousand years. what a mess.
