Should you allow her to open it in front of the gift giver or is it better to make her wait for xmas; with the risk of offending the neighbor?

If it is coming from the guest, it is proper (actually expected) that the receiver would open it in front of the giver. Seeing the expression of the kid opening the gift is a great reason to give a gift.

Ask the gift giver if they would like her to wait until Christmas to open the gift. If they don't object to an early opening, it would probably be best for the child to open the gift right away so they can thank the gift giver promptly.

Ask the neighbor what he/she would prefer. Some people want presents to be opened on Christmas, and others would like to see the reaction of the person opening the gift. You can simply say, "When would you like her to open this: save it for Christmas, or open it right away?"

I think so. It makes the giver feel good to see the gift opened. Of course, in a young child you run the risk of "I don't want this!" proclamations...

But I would let my daughter open it immediately. It's not an etiquette breach.

Yeah I would let her open it in front of the giver so they can see what your daughter looks like when she sees the gift!

I would ask the giver if they would like for her to open it then or wait till Christmas. That way the giver will not be offended.

It really depends on the neighbor. If they just drop the package off, I would have her wait. If they ask to stay, they may want to see the reaction of your daughter upon opening the gift. However, your daughter should ask nicely to open the gift, just in case they say she should wait.

Good luck.

For a present given at the different time then Christmas, you probably did the right element, yet a Christmas present isn't to opened beforehand the 25 of December. I nicely keep in mind that that is truly confusing to finish, because it replaced into continually the rule of thumb in my parent's residing house, and prepared for Christmas day replaced into continually tedious, or maybe irritating. yet, then, this custom made our Christmas day so exciting! Or, each from time to time disappointing.
