how to convert MIDI into MP3?

i need to know how to convert MIDI files into MP3 files so i can put them onto my ipod

I use a free program I got a download.com called "mid2wav". It plays a midi file and "records" it as a wav file. Then simply convert the wav to mp3. If you look, you may find a midi to mp3 program there.
