Its hard to even be around individuals like this much less try and deal with them. I suggest you for the fun of it search the internet for something that they don't have a clue about.

Ask them a question about it not letting them know you've looked into it. When they give you the wrong information that's when you kindly let them know " sorry sweet cheeks but your incorrect "give them the website and be done.

You see the thing about people as such is that they actually don't know much of nothing and is what I like to call "BS'ers" they simply BS their way through life.

On the other hand if your just tired of having someone control your every move or say then you should just let them know. If they are your friends then that's what being a true friend is " telling sometimes what they don't want to hear"

Honestly there isn't a right or wrong way to deal with people like this, but to just tell them to hush.

Wish I could help you more but those are my suggestions, I wish you luck hun cause I'm sure whoever this is or they are I'll bet your nerves are about worn out with them.

You give them one thing to be a know it all and a control freak about and draw the line there. It worked for me and my wife.

research one topic you have that you have on MEDLINE that they cant possible have read everything about. Beat them at one thing then you will knock them down a notch.
