The answer is supposed to be one. But actually the wording is ambiguous. What if the narrator had met the man because he caught up to him on the way to St. Ives? What if they were all traveling on the same train?
Do I have too many thoughts?

1)My first assumption was that they could lay the bed lengthwise up the wall, and then the two convicts stand on top of each other. 2)She took a picture of him (shoots a picture.) Then she held the picture/film under water to develop. Finally she hung the picture to dry. 3)Just one, you 4) Romeo and Juliet are fish.
