If you want a natural remedy, do an herbal tea with a lot of lemon and honey.
Gargle with warm salt water. Viruses cannot survive in a salty enviornment.
And yes, stay away from all dairy.

Mucinex works pretty good. At night, a layer of Vic's Vapor Rub on your neck(throat) and chest is helpful as well. Then top it off with a half a shot of Robitussin DM and your set! (That you take internally....) lol! Happy healing!

Water, water and more water.
Water is the best decongestant going and it also helps to keep your throat moist. As well, keeping hydrated helps to control a fever.
You could also use herbal teas or any other non-alcoholic clear liquid, but keep drinking those fluids.

you need to drink lots of fluids. Mainly, hot tea and drink soup. Blowing your nose can actually help that stuff get out of your system. So it doesn't go down your throat that makes it hard to get out.Lemon is very good too, make sure you have honey also in your tea.

A decongestant/expectrant, like sudafed, I f you can find some. Also, make sure yyou are drinking lots and lots of water, This will help thin them and make it easier to clear
