Hey Brother...
How nice that God's Word is working in your life right now !
"If the world hates you, it's because the world hated me first." is what Jesus told His followers.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake."
"Blessed are you when they shall revile you for My name's sake."
The quotes aren't exact, but you get my drift? Jesus' prophetic words are being fulfilled here on Y Answers! Our faith is strengthened, and our hope in Jesus is even MORE sure!
Ephesians 6:10 ff.

People are more hostile to Christianity and Islam than to other religions, because other religions don't usually proselytise. You are quite right: proselytising religions are disruptive, and sometimes very, very annoying.
I think you might be exaggerating about evolutionists being two seconds away from murdering you, but it is frustrating arguing about something as complex as evolutionary theory with someone who clearly has no interest in acquainting themselves with the basic concepts. Evolutionists often find themselves answering the same questions over and over again. After a while you get the sense that the questioner isn't listening to the answers, so why bother? I imagine Christians might sometimes feel the same way.
There is little point trying to logically disprove a position that wasn't reached through logic in the first place. So I don't. Faith may or may not be a valid position, but it is by definition not amenable to logic or evidence.
Happy Christmas, and peace and joy to you, whatever you believe!

Because to those who like to search deep for truth, there is much to be found.
http://tektonics.org/copycat/mithra.html
There is nothing new about the historical Jesus stories. The story seems to be a copy cat of other ancient God-men religions. The story of Jesus has to be taken allegorically or you are basically believing some guy name Joshua actually live a parallel life as Mithra, Krishna, and others alike. So what is it? These ancients were just prophesying about the real "savior" the historical Jesus. Or is to be taken in a spiritual way to have a spiritual message that lives in most all religions. That is why it SEEMS the Old Testament is prophesying about the historical Jesus. But in fact it also holds the truth concerning the message the acients also knew and had stories about (like the Jesus story) a "man" born of a virgin. But in reality the Old Testament is not prophesying about any historical person, but about the mysteries of the God.

I criticize Christianity because:
1: The culture I live in is predominantly Christian. If I were surrounded by Buddhists, I would be just as critical of them.
2: Buddhists and Pagans don;t try to force their superstitions into the classroom or the science lab.
3: The list of things done on the name of your god and with the seeming approval of your holy book staggers the imagination.
4: Christianity os a disruptive force to exploration, investigation, and scientific progress. If it were up to the religionists, we'd still be in the Dark Ages right now.
5: Intelligent Design is a religious claim, not science, and people who try to claim that it is science deserve the scorn.
6: I am hostile to superstition, willful ignorance, and idealized stupidity.
7: People like me are not hostile to truth at all. We want the truth. We demand truth. Backed by evidence that can be tested. Got any? No? Didn't think so.

Seriously? You've never seen anyone attack Buddhism or Paganism? Did you not study the Crusades, Salem Witch Trials, Spanish Inquisition or any other Christian attack on other faiths?
Obviously people take their beliefs very seriously and when they are made light of, we all get angry. Perhaps a little less arguing on the subject and more discussion with lots of listening on both sides is called for. Don't insist on trying to convince people your beliefs are the only correct ones.

Because most Christians, like you, form their conclusions with the attitude that they are already correct.
Maybe you should look at a few statistics relating to the percentage population of each religion in the US. Or to the fact that Christianity is one of the few religions that aggressively proselytizes. Or to the fact that Christians are legislating in the United States, a country based on separation between church and state, justifying themselves with their Christian beliefs.
Or to the fact that the "Creation/Evolution debate" exists only in the political attacks made by Christians in the United States, while the rest of the world (not to mention the entire scientific community) accepts the fact of evolution.

Because christians are hyprocrites. Plain and simple, holier than thou spouting morons. Its mainly the fact that you SPEW garbage like "Why are people so HOSTILE to the written Word of Almighty God!? Why are people so willing to beleive a lie rather than the truth?!" that cheeses people off. GOD didnt write anything, MAN did- same MANKIND who wrote JACK AND THE BEAN STALK and CINDERELLA- SAME FAIRY TALES as heaven and all the rest of the FICTION written by men. Then you go and spew about people willing to believe a lie, when the BIBLE ITSELF is FICTION. YOu go and believe in a God that you cannot see, cannot hear and cannot touch and then get tax free donations and all the other benefits of the masses who believe in such childish crap as heaven. Its completely UNFAIR that peole like you get their BS faith placed on american currency and are permitted tax freedom when your "God" is no different than Zeus, Ra or the mighty cosmonic elephant that FARTED OUT THE UNIVERSE.
No one gets cheesed at buddist because theyre not full of themselves and neither are pagans, even though its all fictional crap. You never see pagan military going and invading someones country for oil. Christians are blind controlling morons.

Christianity is just the one we are more familiar with, it provokes emotions in us because guess what? Most of us were BORN freeking Christians! Like I was. We were raised in the faith and spoonfed all those ridiculous lies and mythology passed as fact.
We have nothing personal against most other religions because: A) they are not as popular, widespread and as aggressive at shoving their BS down your throat.
and
B) We don't know much about the others, if we did, and if people practiced it who we could make fun of, believe me, we would do it.
We take a pot shot or two at Muslims and their ridiculous faith, since Buddhists don't really believe in a "God" there's not much to say.
If there were a popular movement of people trying to pass Zeus and Greek mythology off as historical fact, we would have a field day with them too. But it's a dead religion...like all should be.
It's just that Christians and Muslims are so heavily populated, with such true believers. They are delusional, really, we just really can't get over that you people believe that crap in the 21st century.

One has to understand what Jesus stood for. He said everyone is damned to Hell unless they have faith in me. He said he was the door to God and in fact he was God. That just don't sit right with society today. Jesus said if people hate Christians remember that they hated him first. He rubbed people the wrong way so much so that they killed him. He is the itch that so many people can't scratch, that's is why I feel Christianity is attacked so much.

2000 years ago you were killed for being a Christian, nowadays anybody says I am Christian. In that time in order for you to be baptize, you would have to show signs of faith, which was to say you were a Christian and of course you would run the chance to be killed. We are all call to be Christians through baptism. In other words, there are a lot of people who said there Christians but in reality they are not. Jesus said "If you love those who love you, that's easy, even atheists can do that, but to love those who don't love you, now that is of a Christian. Now that goes against human nature, because is somebody does something bad to you you want do the same to that person. Nobody can love this way on less has the Spirit of Jesus. If Jesus wanted to conquer this world He would have done it a long time ago, yet His will was the one of His Father, to die for us so that we might be save through him. If killing was/is the answer for all our problems or confusions, then who will survive. Christians or nonChristians, atheist or don't matter who, we are all capable of killing, we are capable of doing good or bad. I am a call to be a Christian, not to try to change peoples life but to be sign of faigh to them. When you see something that you like, you desire it and you want it for you. If a Christian gives signs of faith, and not of bologny.... people would believe. Of course persecution there will always be.

Fear that the message could be right in the end and it will be too late then ; to the question asker - you just can't stand back and think that you are not part of the problem; accept your part , you are not innocent if you promote war and then use people for entertainment.
If it didn't matter, there wouldn't be so much negativity. Even a closed mind is always on a search - search on atheists you wouldn't know the truth if it smacked you in the face daily; you stand with Satan and allow him to hide the truth from you because you accept and follow in darkness ; for that , I am sorry that you are so weak in spirit to shut it out but allow the other to take you with him. God is with you just waiting for you to come to your senses and save yourself; to have faith and for your faith , you will be rewarded. It is called free choice. If I am wrong, I have nothing to lose (and I am not) but if you are wrong, eternity is a long time to say should have could have would have.
