Saying it when you don't mean it

or

Not saying it when you do?

I'm not talking about the words "I love you" I'm talking about the words "I want to die."

Not saying it is worse, I think. I'm twice a survivor, so living through it doesn't necissarily make you see things different. But I've seen the faces and heard the voices of the ones that cared but didn't think I was that far gone. It's not a sight you ever want to see, and the guilt is enormous.

But surviving not only one attempt, but two and seeing how the attempt alone can affect people, there's no worse feeling I've ever felt.

But at the same time, if you tell someone, and then do it, they'll feel like they could have done something.

There's no way to win.

Saying it when you don't mean it could cause others to suffer minorly. Not saying it when you do mean it is a different kind of suffering, a private suffering at first, but left to fester privately it could destroy one's health and harmony and subsequently affect others around us and cause them great suffering. Certainly, "not saying it when you do mean it" is a greater disharmony in the universal truth.

Saying it either way must mean that life isn't good at that time in life and to even think about it means the same-the thing is that most people who have felt like that but not done anything about it ,go on to have happy lives and look back and wonder how they could have ever felt like that about life. Its not a solution its the end, whatever is bothering a person in life this does not ease the pain its the end completely,if you feel like that, take each day as it comes, the cloud will lift eventually.not surmising here i know!

I think that Feeling it but not saying it is worse than Saying it but not meaning it. When you feel it but keep it all inside, makes it build up...and you run a higher risk of acting on it.
WHen your overwelmed, and have so many emotions running inside you, and the first thing you say when you scream out is-- i want to DIE... is more healthy, and constructive.. chances are, you dont "want" to die, you want a solution to your pain, not an end to your existance. Words, can help, but keeping it all inside when you Do feel that way, can just make it so much worse--- talk to someone... connect... live.

Not saying it when you mean it. That is when you need the help the most. If you feel like you may want to end your life you need to call 911 or go to the nearest ER.

If your saying it and it don't mean it then you need to ask yourself why are you saying it and what kind of attention are you seeking.
Best of luck.

Although neither are good, I would say not saying it when you do. If you say it when you don't mean it people will write you off as joking and let it go, but if you just kill yourself without having said anything and without family and friends knowing that you were "that depressed" they will feel like they weren't paying enough attention to notice and will feel guilty. If you mean it, say it, and then let people who care about you help you. I don't even know that you are thinking about it, but if you are, just say it.

I think it would be worse to not say those words when you mean it. If you say it---it, at least, gives someone the chance to give you a reason not to die. Take care...

Not saying when you do. I know, I have clinical depression and I have spent the last nine years keeping it quiet until one day I broke down and things happened that I know could have been avoided had I said something.

Not saying it when you do. Cause then no one would ever expect it, if you don't say it (just like my older brother who tried to commit suicide.) He never told anyone about his feelings, so it was completely unexpected... it was the scariest thing ever, and a complete surprise.

It's worse not saying it when you do.
