It will come back to earth at terminal velocity. (approx. 120 mph).
Take it one further: According to the laws of physics, if you shot 2 of the exact same bullets from the same gun at exactly the same time, one was strait up in the air, and the other 90 degrees down from strait up, they both would hit the ground at exactly the same time!

It depends on the angle the gun was fired at, even firing straight up, the bullet will land elsewhere. Firing at an angle will mean the bullet will travel a greater parabolic arc, possibly several miles. It will still be lethal when it does come down, and some innocent person will be killed or seriously injured.

It comes back down to earth. All things that go up, must come down. It may not fall around the location in which the gun was fired but rest assure, it will come down and it might be a horrible landing. People get hurt from reckless gun fire like that.

It goes up in the air until it runs out of the force behind it, and then it comes back down. You know the old saying "what goes up must come down". It's true in all things.

Up, up and away... Unfortunately, what goes up must come down and in the case of a bullet, it comes down hard enough to damage property and injure or kill people.

So... If you MUST discharge firearms as noise-makers this holiday season, LOAD THEM WITH BLANKS. Better yet, don't use firearms as noise makers. If legal buy fireworks. Otherwise go to the city or county sponsored public fireworks display.

Have a SAFE holiday season.

Best,

H

The bullet will eventually come back to earth but at speeds equal to or more than when it was fired. That's why its is illegal to fire guns in the air.

It goes to heaven with all the other bullets fired in the air. Jesus tells them stories about other bullets and they sing songs and $hit.

If you fire it straight up in the air, it naturally goes straight up.
However as you know the earth rotates, and so when it lands the earth is in a different position.
The flight path is also subject to wind on the way down.

The bullet will fall back to earth

One possibility is if the force (F=MA) is strong enough then it first crosses the earth atmosphere and enters into vaccume...and then as per Newtons first law its keeps on moving in the fired direction until and unless acted upon by force.

other case: if force is not sufficient to cross earth's atmosphere then chances are there to fall on ur head in its fro journey and do ya char stiches bhi lag sakte hai tumhare sar par...:-) ha ha haaaaa :-))
