A person I know was attacked by the disease " Polio " at the age of 3 and he is now 55 years old. His both the legs are effected and he needs cruches to walks. I know that polio is now eradicated. But with the latest advancement and improvement in the medical field, I am sure that there has to be a way out.

Probably not. Polio causes paralysis due to nerve damage. Nerve cells, like brain cells, do not regenerate much (if at all), and after 52 years, I doubt there is any chance that the damage can be reversed at all. There ARE some experimental treatments that have been tried with parapelgics and such where mini impulses are transmited via 'mini electrical shocks' to nervous tissue below the damage area. They have been said to work, try searching for more information on it. I hope this helps!!! (though I seriously doubt anything can change it)

Not necessarily so, and yes, it's a toss of the coin. With your friend it's to late, his legs and muscles are already anthropoid (become useless) today if it happen, they could work with him as in arthritis or Rheumatism. It's just the way it is.
