It’s just something that happens with some Chihuahua puppies. It doesn't mean he is weird. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he isn’t purebred, or it doesn’t prove that he is purebred.

Our Chihuahua’s ears both flopped as a puppy. The vet told us that they might stand up as he got older, or they might not. Now they both just have the tips flop over and most of each ear stands up. We don’t really care, as we never planned to show him.

Think of it as his own, personal look. Maybe he’ll outgrow it, maybe he won’t. Personally, he sounds kind of cute.

For instance Dobermans's ears naturally flop over when they are born. People have the ears "docked" which means they surgically shorten the tendon so it's tighter and the ears stand up.
Your dog may not be purebred. It may have some terrier in it which have naturally flopped over ears. It may have had it's ear bitten to hard by it's littermate and now the tendon healed to loose. You can live with it or have the ear docked. Eigther way, the dog won't care.

OK, first it's chihuahuas!
Anyway, the ears, since he is only 9 weeks, usually grow to be pointy because that's typical in small, short-eared dogs - if you rub the one ear for a while, over time it should be okay (I have three yorkies I had the same experience)

A lot of chihuahuas ears don't stand up completely until they are much older. Some never stand up all the way, but this is not a quality trait.

I'm not aure about that. I have a chihuahua myself, and his ears will sometimes do that. It could just be that his muscles in one ear have developed faster. A chihuahua's ears do not stand up naturally. They simply hold them up depending on moods etc.

a lot of dogs have that. i think it is sooo cute. but if u have a problem with it, there is no way to fix it. sometimes the tissue in one ear is different then the other, so one folds. if the dog is young, one ear may straighten out as he gets older, but it is unlikely.

Your pup is very young. Both his ears will go up as he gets older. I know - I have a chihuahua.

I have five chihuahuas, and sometimes mine do that. It's normal, and they will go up and stay up when they are ready. Ears up or down, I think their adorable either way!

My dog has that same style of ears. She is a mix and her mom was a schnauzer and her dad was an american eskimo. I say she has a mama ear and a papa ear So your dog is fine. Nothing is wrong!
