I've never been able to work this kind of behaviour out...
No matter how much you take them in, when necessary, lend them money, feed them, etc.
They are just users, and should be treated with the contempt they deserve.

Yeah, and unfortunately, it gets worse as you get older :( When your lives start going in different directions and you have less in common, you have to make an even bigger effort than you ever did before to stay in touch (both parties should) but society has gotten more impatient and lazier than ever so it's hard to find and keep really good friends nowadays. Hopefully, you will find more people that are willing to make it work! Good luck! :)

I am not sure if hate is my word for that but honestly. I am a bit disappointed. Specially if he's the one I consider my best. It just somehow disappear when feelings changed like when I came back home for vacation. he was the one who even took a leave of absence from work to bring me around town and old friends. I guess that's his nature so I forgot about it already.

Friends share things - time, stories, being together.
People who don't make ANY effort to keep in touch either
a) don't really want to be friends, or
b) expect you to do all the work, or
c) Don't care.
After you've made an effort - and made it more than once - if nothing comes back. maybe you start thinking about investing your time and energy and friendship in a more productive relationship.

Maybe they are too busy. It is no big deal as long as I care for them and I pray for all my friends everyday.
