I have a female cat and she tends to do the same thing. Usually right after I come home from a 12 hour shift or a night out. I think cats go thru seperation anxiety, and even tho they are very independent animals, they want to remind us that they do need us and our affection. Other than that, maybe your kitty just wants a treat, or some wet food (or in my cats case, she wants to play fetch with her toy mice...) hope I helped! Merry Christmas!

Simple. You're MOMMA "kitty". Take it as a compliment.

I've had my cat since it was just a little ball of fluff, lost and scared. She's now around 2 years old, but to her I'm still momma. If she's in the room, and I go downstairs, she's soon with me. Kittens usually follow their mom around and stay close for a good portion of the time. Aparently your cat feels very secure this way.

Also, a cat will often come to you when it needs something. Cat's are very smart and usually try to communicate their needs to us. Just listen and look at the signals they are giving you. Sometimes it's subtle, but usually we can catch one.

My cat does the same, one reason it is attention and affection that she is looking for and she needs it. The second is that we have another older cat in the house who is more controlling so I am like her life saver.

The cat probably wants your attention. She wants to be petted and loved.

There could be trying to tell you something, such as:

1. I'm hungry. Feed me!
2. I'm thirsty and my water dish is empty.
3. I love you.
4. Please play with me.
5. I'm lonely and I want some attention.
