The only thing you will find in Folkestone is ferrys going in and out of port. For the best beaches go to the the south wales coast. Pendine Sands is one of the nicest beaches I have seen. No beaches in the UK are what I would call clean but the beach mentioned above is about the best ive been too.

Yes the cliffs are wonderful between Folkestone and Kingsdown but come on the beaches are not and the sea front is a disgrace thanks to a Mr Jimmy Godden who has turned it into a slum.
Help is on the way to Save Folkestone in the next few years if the plans that Roger DeHaan has get accepted.
I think Poppit Sands in West Wales is a lovely beach in North Pembrokeshire

The Lanes in Folkestone are more impressive (better than Brighton) than the cliffs of which the British Isles has plenty of half decent ones.

the best cliffs are not necessarily by the best beaches!
The whole south coast boasts the seven sisters, although the colours on the isle of wight cliffs are amazing and the coastal roads where the highlands in scotland meet the islands offer breathtaking cliffs!
If you want golden sand dorset, devon and cornwall are obvious, as is wales, but some of the widest and longest stretches are on the northumbrian coast.
Of course, good ole pebble beaches that hurt the feet, deny comfort to the lounger but allow a little beach combing for fossils are dotted everwhere - with chesil in dorset being probably the best.
Kent is generally over-rated - and I say that as a native!
