The Holy Bible starts with Horror and it ends with Horror. They accept the Horror of the Crucifixion but they try to mellow that down. They want to take out only the nice little things and quote them and they accuse us of taking things out of context. That's a laugh. I'm sorry if this upsets some of my friends. I love you all. Merry Christmas. xx

why is it difficult to see...

well for some it is because of the simple reason that they DO NOT open & read their Bibles...

and for others... you got it right, some do take verses out of context as much as
unbelievers do...

but by & large, for any Bible believing (& reading), Spirit-filled Christian there shouldn't be any difficulties in seeing any "horror" in & any beauty of the Bible...

peace

The Holy Bible startes with beauty and the life a person can have in heaven also ends with beatuy. The horror comes from sin and the people who refuse Jesus as their pesonal Savior.

I am a Christian and I know what a horrible death Jesus experienced. So as the Christian I am, I don't take His suffering for me for granted the way most of this world does. Your post seems hypocritical to me...

You start out with critizing Christians for their faith in the death that Jesus experienced on the cross. then you Capitolize Holy Bible, which showes respect for a book you don't believe in. Then you top it off with a Merry Christmas.

Do you even know that Christmas is about the birth of our Savior, who became our savior by that very same horrible death, by way of being crucified for our sins. Without this horrible death which symbolized Jesus taking the entire world's sins with Him on that cross, we could not obtain eternal life or enter into the kingdom of Heaven? And I along with countless other Christians praise and thank Jesus for His unselfish demonstration of His love for us, and even for you as well.

If you actually think that true Christians look at the crucifixion like a joke, and do not take it as serious as the ;life and death it was,.. you my confused friend have a lot to learn about true Christians before you post again.

I am praying for you.

Only those who can't stomach the full truth of the faith try to whitewash it. The crucifixion was an ugly deed done to take care of an ugly problem: sin. If we can be realistic about our own ugliness, then maybe we can have the guts to accept that truth is sometimes very ugly, and not "pretty and fuzzy" the way we would always like it to be.

Some people prefer comfortable bondage to uneasy freedom. Childbirth isn't a pretty sight either, yet that's what we are celebrating with Christmas! God is into all of our ugliness, and not just our beauty.

Merry Christmas!

Because they do not have the original teachings of Christ. Their Bible is misconstrued by Evil King Constantine. The original New Testament was hidden, the original christian Essenes went into hiding due to being killed by the government and others. It is now available in English called the Gospel of the Nazirenes. go to gospelofthenazirenes. for complete details if you are a sincere seeker of truth.

Doesn’t upset me at all, but it makes me sad that anybody can interpret scripture in this way.

Merry Christmas to you and perhaps you could take a moment, at least as much time as it took you to write this tragic question, and consider Christ’s sacrifice. He went through all that horror for you. Think about that. He suffered for YOU.

I quote Slayer:

Welcome to the horror of the Revelations
Tell me what you think of your savior now
I reject the biblical views of the truth
Dismiss it as a folklore of the times
I won't be force-fed prophesy
from the Book of Untruth for the weakest minds
I keep the bible in a pool of blood
So that none of it's lies can affect me!

If you wish to believe that , what can one say to you?
It is not necessary for you to believe that way but you choose to?
So just be prepared to explain yourself and your words at the judgement seat of Christ, who will then examine you and find out the intentions of your heart.
I am very happy that I am Christian, a child of God, blessed by God. One who doesn't follow the insane crowd in addiction to pleasures or the fashionable hate/acceptance ideas of the day .

Horror? Okay, it may be bigoted and wrong in some places, but horror? The Bible wasn't written by Freddy Krueger, for crying out loud!

The real question is .... why do non Christians find it difficult to believe in a loving merciful God who would sacrifice his son to make a way into heaven, to those who will trust in Him?... note the first 5 letters of this word ---> CHRISTmas.

have a good one, and may you find Christ in Christmas and the rest of the year too.

There is horror in anything, if you look deeply enough. The bible is basically a series of stories telling people (who aren't able to decipher for themselves what is right and wrong) how to live a good life, and get along with others
