Cyberlink Power DVD6 was provided pre-installed on my computer and i have used it to watch dvd's. I'm currently getting a message saying, "This dvd player has been fixed to Region 1. Only those discs that support this region can be played." There is an error code which is, 8090000F.

Is there anyway i can reverse this to enable region 2 discs to be played?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for trying to help everyone. I checked under device manager as suggested. A message popped-up advising my player is now permanently set to Region 1 (i'm in the UK), because i had changed the region number too many times and it's defaulted to region 1.
The message box states, this cannot be changed even if i reinstall Windows or used the drive in a different computer. ****! I suppose i have my answer now.

But if anyone has solved this problem please advise - no way am i going to pc world. It'd be cheaper to dump the computer and buy a new one.

Using Windows media player or power dvd gives the same error message.

Thanks again.

In control panel, click system folder, open up device manager, find your drive in the list, righ click it, click properties, advanced, you can change it to the proper region here.

Try to play the disc in Windows Media Player and it will come up with the same error, only this time with instructions on how to change the region. This change will be affective with other players too.
