I have lived alone for 10 years and love it. I spent most of my life catering to the needs of others. I was the oldest girl in a large family and was responsible for babysitting my younger siblings from age 11. Then as an adult I worked as a RN for 20 years caring for my patients which I loved. I also loved raising my 3 children -the youngest now approaching 30. After retiring from my nursing career, I spent 2 years caring for my mother who had Parkinsons Disease. At this point in my life I enjoy being able to do what I please, when I please, and how I please and having to please no one but me. I can eat when and what I like, sleep when I'm sleepy or stay up all night if i want to, eat crackers or chips in bed if i want. Some may think that is a selfish attitude but I have done my time catering to others. Now I live to please myself.

I will be single for the rest of my life because I am downright ugly-looking. I have a big nose, a skinny face, balding, a long neck, and slightly out of shape. I have the company of my family for the holidays, which includes 2 nephews who are 7 and 4 and a baby niece. So I have a lot of fun with them.

There is such a need for single people who are loving. Seriously, there are children in the hospital whose families are torn several different ways on holidays. And people in rehab and nursing care facilities, same situation. My daughter's ex used to beat her every Christmas. You don't need that. Even your local dog kennel may be overcrowded because of people traveling, and want someone to love up the extra pets. You are so needed, so wanted.

I´m single and I don´t have any problem with spending Christmas without a boyfriend. I rather be alone than with some one who doesn´t really love me, besides I´m happy to be spending Christmas with my family and friends. Maybe Santa is bringing me a boyfriend for Christmas, who knows...or maybe I´ll have one for next year, but for the moment it doesn´t bother me much.

You're not alone, I'm single and feel empty and lonely this time of year as well. You get thru it. Every year I think, Maybe next year it'll be different, so far, I've been telling myself that for the past few years.

like you said.. FAMILY
if not, hangout with those other singles or look for a party at a bar to hook up with someone. You can also just chill with that person, that way you have a way to spend xmas with someone

Yes, I am. I don't really have to deal with it, because I love being single. It gives me more time to spend hanging out with my friends and doing tons of crazy s-hit on New Year's.
