I get offended all the time in this section, which is perhaps why I prefer to stay out of it. This ties into a previous question you asked about getting offended - if I'm passionate enough, I'll get offended easily.
And don't worry about offending people, it doesn't necessarily change their respect for you.

I suppose it depends on the questions you've asked. You say, "...without fail, one or more get offended and sarcastic in their reply." If indeeed this does happen each time you ask a question, maybe you should check it over before you click "Submit".
Are you being sarcastic, or unkind without realizing it? Are you saying anything that may be politically incorrect or ethnically offensive, etc.?
With an audience as large and diverse as the Yahoo Answers group, I would assume each person who submits would need to make sure the question is neutral and appropriate.
I'm sorry that you have been insulted; that must be discouraging. But do try again.

I want to say both yes and no. It all depends on the subject and how the question is worded. Some people get rediculously offended, others don't. I try not to get offended. I just answer the best way I can and try not to be rude.

Probably not. Religious faith is very close to the heart and people take it very seriously. If they didn't they probably wouldn't care what was asked. I personally don't mind sincere questions but some of the athiests who visit this site seem only to want to instigate and I wish those peple would stay out of this section and either go to a different one or start a new one called secular humanism.

How dare you suggest we are all offended in this part of the site. You accuse of of being narrow minded with this question. I am mortally offended by this. If I was still a level 2 (the Christians ensured my deletion) I would give you thumbs down.

yes i have experienced the same even for an apology i was reported...but hey it is christmas..say a prayer for immature selfish people so that a little bit of godliness may rise within them and they wont be so mean to others...even if you aren't christian like me you can spread love and compassion to all regardless..this is an opportunity...for those who are offended it is their problem..if you know you haven't meant any offense and not come off as offensive then don't think on it..
i became really upset at eing reported like four times over nothing vulgar while there are people posting innapropriate obscenities out there..
but then i believe forgiving is god's place and forgetting is mine as i say a prayer to the lord that this person realizes their mistake and to forgive them when they do

Humans are just that way. I'm sure you could ask any question, no matter how benign, in the religion or politics section, and offend someone. Humans are far too emotional.

Religion is a sore subject. Anyone who's being serious will be hated by the people that don't believe in Religion...and anyone that messages here that doesn't believe in Religion...will get attacked by the people who do.
And THEN there are the people who have different religions and just don't believe anyone else's has a base in reality.
It's the one subject that will cause war in a SECOND. You just have to get used to it, because as long as there's people...we're never going to agree on this.

It happens all the time. Some people might be offended, but most of the time it seems like they're just being rude. I ignore it.

Ah, everything that can be said offends at least one person on this green earth, although some things offend more than others.
