It takes about the same amount of time to do psychiatry as it takes to become a clinical psychologist.

Psychologist-4 years of college, then 4-6 years of graduate school, then an internship (length of internship varies by school).

Psychiatrist- 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and about 4 years for a psychiatry residency.

I psyciatrist is a medical doctor specialised in psychology and/or neurology, and therefore you have to go through med school, so good luck with that. all i know about it is that it takes more years of college study than what i'm willing to do. but otherwise if you want to be a clinical psychologist, depending on the state you are in you must have at least a master's degree or a Ph.D. in psychology to practice. and again i'm not willing to study up to my Ph.D. so good luck again.
