Well everyone is going on and on about GHDs, all my friends say they want them, but my hair isn't too thick so I don't have to have ones that heat up to such a high temp. Straighteners from shops are pretty good if you know what you're looking for I have the Mark Hill Morphy Richards ones which are ceramic, but I think the best ones from a shop must be the Remingtons my sis has them and they make your hair very silky.

I have a set of Toni and Guy curling tongs with different tops/barrels for different effects like tight curls or light waves. I think they were very very good for the money, only about 20 quid. But I am a little lazy and barely ever use them, which is a shame!
If you can't be bothered to use heat to curl your hair you can buy some really cool spray from Boots which has chemicals which enhance wavy hair etc.

Nothing you buy in the stores are any good. I bought a fabulous straightener from a place that sells to hairdressers...cost $120...it heats up to 450 degrees...if you touch it it's like touching a burner....the ones you get in the stores don't even make it to 200 degrees...garbage...all of them!

Make sure you ask if it's celcius or farenheit if buying off ebay. Go for a cheaper model so long as it's 400 degrees F and ceramic it's a good one...you don't need to spend $200 plus.

If you want to know what the difference is, the higher the heat, the straighter and thinner looking the hair...so if you have really poufy hair...the low temps will never straighten it...you need that high heat to do the job.

My mom bought that straightener, "The Maxi glide" off of the tv. It uses steam to steam your hair pin straight. Its amazing. I have super curly hair and it only takes 20 minutes to straighten it.

T3 http://www.t3tourmaline.com/

the best by far. i swear by it. far better than ghd.
ghd is a company that makes shampoos, conditioner and styling products and happens to put out a couple of hot tools.

T3 just makes hair appliances. it's their specialty. can't say enough good thing about them.
