christian logic on the bible: I already know that the bible is god's word, therefore and hence, it cannot be false.
how do you know it already to be god's word?
my pastor told me it was, oh and it mentions it in the bible.
so your pastor and the bible are the authority on the validity of the bible?
yes.
that creates a conflict in logic.
no, you're wrong. it's perfection.
that's like the M.C. Escher drawing of the hand drawing the hand that is drawing it. (http://n.ethz.ch/student/sbojan/Homepagebilder/MC%20Escher%20-%20Drawing%20Hands.jpg)

I'm disappointed by the way you stated your question because it shows that you aren't really open to finding answers or searching for truth. Unfortunately many Christians fall into the same category.

If I may answer with hope that you might honestly listen, Christians who are wise don't use the Bible to prove it's truth. Rather, they use historical evidence, and yes, there is a ton, to prove that it is true. Just ask a couple of atheists that sincerely set out to prove it was wrong.

I have nothing against Harry Potter, and in fact, we own all of the books so far. I agree with the person who wrote, read the Bible and then make a judgement. I feel the same about the Christians who just flat out condemn the Harry Potter books.

If you do decide to search for truth, and let go of your prejudgements about religion, I'm happy to dialog. I'm not the smartest person, but I enjoy good conversations. :-)

If I tell you stories verbally about Harry Potter, chances are someone will tell a you the same story that may confuse you because the understandings and presentation can be different from how I presented it to you. So the next best thing is to show you what is written or hand you the book itself for your own understanding.
The Holy Bible is even more complicated than that if you will only try to listen to many preachers everywhere. Using the qoutes from it is one way to tell that the person talking to you did not invent it. And double sigh to you because I know you are just there to find fault in any way a Christian will try to prove their belief. I am no longer a Christian but I try as much as I can to make a much interesting question.

You have a good point. Quoting the bible to people who do not believe the bible is pointless. Only a person who believes the bible will benefit, but even then most are brainwashed to their church doctrine which most churches are far from the doctrine of the bible. Baptism for example is necessary according to the bible but most churches deny this, so there too pointless because even the believers are unbelievers.

We were given the Bible as the answer book. Harry Potter is a fiction book. The Bible is presented to us as a record of events that really happened. It is our source for answers about whatever life brings our way. If you don't believe in the Bible, it would be hard for you to see this.

The Bible is the written word of God. It is the greatest book ever made. We Catholics are just sharing with our other brothers the teaching of God. It is a fact and not fiction like your Harry Potter book on witches. People cannot fly.

It's called circular reasoning! It's a wonderful thing. For example...

I am the greatest human being to have ever existed, and everything I say is true.

We know that this is true, because I have just stated that everything I say is true.

See? Circular logic is fun! And you can use it to prove anything you want!

Too bad Circular logic is bad logic...

Harry Potter is a fictional book admittiantly by it's own author. God's word in the bible is the truth. It seems to me that you fear hearing the truth.Hummmmmmm yourself.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Oh yeah... you hate it when us Christians do that. Wahaha

This is the only source they have to try to prove themselves right. There is no outside proof of what they believe and so the bible must be true or else they are wrong.
