My purpose in life is whatever I want it to be. It can change from day to day, year to year and so on. Some days I don't have a purpose. See, as an atheist I don't believe I was put here to do anything. I believe that "life" is basicly an accident of chemistry and time and I am simply part of that accident. Thus, I am allowed to conjure my own purpose and work towards it, or not, whenever I choose to do so.
Life doesn't need to have a purpose in order to be alive. And just because life doesn't have a purpose in general, doesn't mean I can't enjoy it. Which is what I live for. To enjoy life, my way. I don't have anyone telling me what to do or how to behave. I simply make my own choices, do my own thing, and hopefully at the end of the day I'm happy. If not, then tomorrow I'll do something different and see how that works for me.

There is purpose in everybodys life, and that purpose is to be a good person. Why do Christians think that an atheists cannot be good people?

Our purpose is the same as everyone else, whether they be Christian, Muslim, Agnostic or Jewish. We were created scientifically, when a sperm found an egg. What we do with our life, our purpose, is for us to decide and plan. I pity those who feel their only purpose in life is to be a puppet to a higher power. Our purpose is to live and enjoy life as good people. We lay our own path and purpose, we exhibit free will and thought.

No one knows the purpose of life. Even if you're a Christian, what is your purpose? To live, then die and go to Heaven/Hell for eternity? That doesn't make sense. The sun is eventually going to explode and all life on Earth will cease to exist anyway -- what's the point in that?

There is no purpose. And I decided that to live is my reason to be alive. Its not exactly like I had a choice to be born.

I'm a Christian and I don't know what my purpose is yet! For the past 8-9 years I find myself praying with family members friends and strangers who are dying and asking them if they are ready to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. I remind them that even if their bodies die that Christ will save their souls if they ask him to. Maybe this is my purpose? I would hate for them to die not knowing Christ. I believe he does exist and I believe what the bible says about him. So this is my final favor to them. If their is a God then they are covered. If there is no God, then they die peacefully and without fear. Yes that is my purpose!

i believe the 'purpose' is to give life a 'meaning' for myself through satisfying curiosity as much as I can, through discovering what there is to see and indulge in in life, through living by a moral and ethical way, through thinking and questioning and being content with myself
you give life it's own meaning, many people choose god as an answer to everything in life, i don't like that answer, i believe that life is meant to be unexplained, that the mysteries of life will always remain the mysteries of life and that life is not just a test of faith, i'll make what i want of life
and I'm an agnostic, religion does not dictate my life, but i am still morally conscious and happy (unlike the misbelief many religious people have) and yes i am capable of loving people, i love my family very much and i love life, even with the bad i've seen

There is no purpose. There doesn't need to be a purpose in order for something to exist.

Thank you- No one can be happy or have a real purpose with out knowing God-Creator, Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. Their aim is selfish and self centered though they do not know who they are in actuality. We are spirit soul, part and parcel of Supreme Soul. and if we forget our relationship with God we are no better than an animal. Animals eat sleep mate and defend but they do not have the intelligence to question their existence and relationship with God. If they don't worship G.O.D. Then they must worship D.O.G. or their own senses. Free will be a dong in their next life God allows.
