Well, sorry to say this, but sleep! However, if you're having trouble sleeping, this has to be sorted first.
When you say you trouble sleeping, do you have trouble getting to sleep in the first place, do you just have too much to do and not have time to go to sleep, or do you go to sleep and then wake up??
Are you drinking anything like hot chocolate, coffee etc before you go to bed, as this can keep you awake, and although it will wake you up for a little while, you will eventually feel even more restless and exhausted.
If you can't get to sleep, or wake up, try getting up and doing something - dancing around, going for a walk, any kind of exercise, reading a book. If you've got too much on your mind, try Yoga as this helped me. It makes you chill out if you take it seriously. Also lavendar oil is great, either use it in an oil burner or pour a little on your pillow, it really helps to knock you out.
If it's because you're feeling tense/too much to do, try Yoga (as mentioned) or this exercise; curl up into a ball in your bed, as tight as you can go, curling up your fingers, toes, making all of the muscles in your body tense. Take a deep breath and hold it. Then start to relax them, starting at the toes and working your way up. Let out the breath slowly. This takes a bit of practice until you get used to all the muscles, but it makes you more aware of your own body and is a great relaxing technique. Also have a good look at your diet. Sounds obvious, but a few veggies can make a difference.
If none of this helps, go and see your doctor, who will probably do a blood test. There are many things it could be other than depression, which someone instantly jumped to, I was anaemic myself, but it could be anything and most things can be treated dead easily. Good Luck!

I have trouble sleeping too, but I've found 3 ways to wake myself up.
1 - If I'm only a little bit tired, I eat some chocolate. It gives me the boost I need to carry on working.
2 - If I'm at home, I put on some music and dance. I always make sure I have the curtains shut though, so no one sees me jumping around like an idiot.
3 - When I have a bit of time on my hands, I watch a comedy show. It cheers me up as well as waking me up and puts me in a better mood to carry on.
One thing that might help is, before you go to your doctor, keep a record of when you sleep, how long for, how you feel when you're awake, stuff like that. It might be helpful for the doctor to figure out what's wrong.

It's impossible to give the perfect answer without knowing more about your circumstances. Speaking generally, I would say avoid caffeine, alcohol, drugs of any kind, and anything else that might affect your body's ability to sleep. Wake up as early as you can drag yourself out of bed (and still function), get into a regular exercise routine, and go to bed at the same time every evening (preferably about 7 or 8 hours before you plan to get up). If you are otherwise healthy, these steps should get you sleeping through the night. If they don't, see a doctor.

You need the Appliance of Science. Lack of sleep is obviously the problem so what you need to do is find out why you are not sleeping and cure that. You already know why you are tired.
What wakes you? Noise? Need to piss? Indigestion? Find the answers you find the cure.

hey: i'm the same with sleep. this is what i do:
either tire myself out doing soemthing,
excercise,
tire myself out mentally,
sex helps quite a bit if you want to relax
meditation does too but it takes a few months of trying before you see proper results.
eating the right food too does help as well.
stay away from greasy food.

1) Make sure you are drinking enough water. Drinking enough can make a massive change in how fit you feel.
2) If you're eating a lot of wheat (especially white flour products) reduce your intake or even renounce it completely for at least a week.
Both worked for me.
