Meringue does that. You have to make sure that you "seal" the ENTIRE pie with the meringue. In other words...spread the meringue all the way to the crust. You will not have this problem again.

BTW -- It has nothing to do with not cooking it enough. Like I said, make sure you spread the meringue until it goes just over the crust. It will not pull away during baking if you do this.

You need to take the merguine all the way to the inside edges of your pie crust and make sure it's right up to the edges and sealed.

It might not have been sealed to the edge like the other person said. I find that happens to me if I don't pay attention and I over beat my egg whites.

it has to be spread to touch the outer crust all the way around or it will recede toward the middle...
