I was thinking about getting my girlfriend a puppy. It needs to be a small breed because we live in a small house. She doesn't like long haired dogs.

FRENCH BULLDOGS!!! The are playful, sweet, and they don't shed a lot. Plus, they are fine living in small places.

You should go to the local shelters with her and find the right puppy maybe even an older dog already house broke. They should have a good selection of dogs there. Hope you find a good friend.

Looking at the picture of you, you are one word. SPUNKY!!! If you are wanting a small dog than, the chiwawa is for you. If you want something bigger, than a weimerainer is good too. Weimerainers are gray and beautiful. I have one that is almost 11 years old. Her name is Lily. If you dicide to get one of these breeds than I'll sugest some names.
Chiwawa-girl-Sasha, and if a good boy name would be-Chip
Weimerainer-girl-Baby or Daisy, and if boy-Billy

Curly haired dogs are non shedding. Try a Shih-chon. This is a mix of Shih-tzu and Bichon Frise. Wonderful Personality, non-shedding. If curly hair is still too long for what she likes, try a chihuahua.

A Yorkshire Terrier or if you like annoying dogs try a Chihuahua. I think you'd probably want a Yorkie because they are really sweet. Good luck :-) and Merry Christmas!!

Well you should both go to a shelter and save a dog from there

I'd suggest whatever you get her take her to help decide so that the dog is liked by the both of you

a mini schnauzer = ] i'm a proud owner & he's just soooo perfect and adorable even though he's 3. I remember when we just got him when he was 2 mo. old. He could fit in a sock..he was SO incredibly adorable =]] Schnauzers don't have long hair, you could shave them off if you REALLY want to. They have great personality & are really smart. My schnauzer, Bobby, comes up & puts his head on my arm when I'm just sitting on the couch alone. I really suggest you a schnauzer!

Look at the pound and on perfinder.com. These dogs desperately need homes.

Smooth coated Chidoodle. They are the BEST. Get the micro-teacup size and it will be really small.
