Non theists can have a conversation of the possibility of god/gods and hash it out. Try to have that kind of open minded discussion with a religious person. What is it that causes one to be so closed minded? So unopened to possibilities, and others viewpoints? Could it be brainwashing on a mass scale?

Because doubt is a sin.

That's what I love about being atheist. I can do my actions without fear of supernatural repercussion

I am not religious and often posed the same question as you and naturally no matter what anyone else said it made no difference.
The difference came when I opened my mind. Religious people can be over zealous and so too can atheists and spiritualists alike because they are after all people.
But if you seriously question the existence of a supreme being then look at the order, structure , beauty and perfection of everything in creation and how each of these things relate and intertwine with one another, and if you can truly answer without prejudice or bias then you will have your answer and not need to enter into discussions of the proving of what you Know to be true or not

I am a very religious person and there have been times that I, too, have doubted the existence of God. Most of the time I am able to sustain my faith in God. Just about every religious person I know has doubted God from time to time.
On the other hand, I have known several atheists who refuse to open their mind to the possibility of God's existence.
So from my experience I have to say the opposite is true.

I consider myself a spiritual person not a religious one. I haven't ever read the Bible and I believe in God in my own way. I cannot possibly imagine myself doubting God's existence and that is certainly not because of fear. I just know that He exists, He Is. If that is close-mindedness then I am happy to be a close minded person.

Have you ever had a conversation with a theist in which you didn't get upset? I hope your answer is no, because if it is then it shows that you're open to the truth, and your human nature is rebelling against it as the bible says it will until you are born again.

Because of the human brain. Capable of absorbing 40MBs per second of data and with enough room that it would take over 10,000 years to develop enough synaptic connectors to fill the available space. What evolutionary pressure could cause this type of mutation? Or, did man once live for 10,000 years and has since de-evolved?

Because its an experiential thing. It would be like saying I don't have an open mind about having a daughter. But here she is right near me!

Or perhaps certainty that we have it right, and there's no need to toy around with other ideas which can't be true bc of the evidence for Christianity? No has been able to refute the resurrection, at least, no one I've seen.

As for proving there's no God, the Bible records many instances in which ppl interacted with Him, so we know He exists. I suppose I accept the Bible on faith, but it isn't unreasoned faith.
