... see huge amounts of violence and death, but sex is saved for 18s or porn?

Surely sex should be contemplated at an earlier age to torture, extreme pain and death?

Sex is beautiful.

Why does it have to be rampant, fast sex?

Why can't children know about loving sex?

I'm amazed the reactions of some of you people... Sex shouldn't be viewed as 'disgusting' by any adult worth their salt... It's the most natural thing in the world, it brings life, and it is an incredibly vulnerable and beautiful thing.

When done with the right reasons.

It all depends on the culture you live in.

My belief is that Children should not be subjected to gratuitous violence or sex until they are old enough for such things (16 or above sounds reasonable). However mild violence, and sex, as well as so-called dirty language should be acceptable at a much younger age, ONLY (and this is the key) if there is a responsible adult around that can discuss things with that child.

The problem comes that too many adults leave children to be raised by the Television. The television can be an amazing tool for teaching IF there is responsible adult supervision. Discuss things seen on TV with children. Help them differentiate between right and wrong, fact and fiction.

It is because children are not taught to differentiate that the extreme violence becomes a problem. However, with the perceived necessity of the two income household, the television is more and more being used without the benefit of supervision.

Oh well, no more rambling for me.

I agree they should be treated the same, torture and sadistic horror scenes are definitely as "mature" as sex scenes.. But I don't think it is a given that any particular child can deal with these subjects at any particular age...

Porn isn't that beautiful.

Just people thrashing around in a bed practically swallowing each other.
