For short term pain relief then oil of cloves is good. Also if it's a cavity or broken crown that's the problem then you can get emergency dental kits from Boots and other good chemists. That would allow you to put your own temporary filling etc in and stop the pain until you can get to your dentist. They aren't a long term solution but shold be good for a week or 2. Another option is to look for your nearest dental hospital as they will have a turn up and wait system for dental emergencies. They tend to be limited in what they offer (mostly emergency extractions) but is the pain is that much then you may not care if the tooth can be saved. If you do have a fairly local dental hospital then be sure to turn up early if you intend to wait for treatment. If paracetemol or ibuprofen give short term pain relief not many realise that you can actually take both at the same time. Most of them you take 2 tablets at 4 hour intervals, the problem is they don't last 4 hours. So what you can do is take 2 paracetemol and then 2 hours later 2 ibuprofen. That way you can have pain medication every 2 hours. This is actually what my Dentist advised me to manage pain after surgery.

Clove Oil is very good for gum/tooth pain. Just rub it into the affected area.
Maybe a trip to the dentist would be the best course of action in the long run though.

RE:
How do I cure tooth pain.?
It may be exposed nerves which gives the tingling pain. I cannot eat or drink cold. It is very sensitive and it is causing quite a lot of distress to me as I am unable to chew my food properly. I have tried sensodyne toothpaste for 2 months but no it still does not help. Please can anyone help.

Try using clove oil directly on to the tooth, and if you are not on any medication from the doctor (including inhalers), try ibuprofen 400mg tablets. This will help for a short while but you will have to see the dentist. Merry Christmas.

Clove oil will work but use very little. If you get it on your tongue or inside the mouth area, you'll know it for a couple days!
Use a toothpick and apply a drop at a time to the bad tooth.

I've tried oil of clove (clove oil if you prefer) and yes it does give some relief but as long as your in no hurry to go anywhere a good strong spirit will give better relief.
A nice scotch will soon dull the pain ;o)

The best remedy and a old one too, is to bite on an aspirin. It gets rid of the pain. Or gargle your mouth with warm solution of salt water and hold it on the painful tooth.
