Hell is what we call "a lie"

I think if I thought that it was OK to let people languish in Hell for ever (or near enough) and then destroy them I would feel severely let down and it would kind of justify every insane dictator's abuse of his population. Why not torture people before you kill them if God does?

Personally I think it is incredibly arrogant of people to claim to know God's motives or processes. Knowing the difference between right and wrong is good enough for me and sometimes thassa bit hard.

It's a pretty good question anyway. My own feeling is that Hell was invented for its effect as a deterrent. The trouble is that punishment later rarely deters people from doing evil now because they always feel they can escape.

Personally I hope we are allowed out.

Makes you wonder what a Good Person is. I can't help feeling that someone who does Good just because he wants to avoid Hell is not really in the same league as someone who does Good because he /she naturally wants to.

Hell is eternal separation from God, and therefore from all that is good or wholesome or beautiful or enjoyable or peaceful or loving, since God is the source of all these things. Those who reject the presence of God in this life also reject Him for all eternity. Therefore there must be a place where such people can exist. The alternative would be God forcing people to spend eternity in His presence, who have freely chosen not to do so, which would negate the reality of free will.

Hell is a punishment. Everyone gets punished at some point in their life, and if they don't learn from that then tough. God gives you your whole life to accept him and Jesus as your saviour. When you die, you get judged and get sent to either Heaven or Hell. Hell is not a place where you learn a lesson it's a place of ever lasting punishment.

The HELL doctrine is a LIE!

Eternal punishment in a fabled hell hole called hell only exists in the evil, wicked hearts and minds of men.

Dig a little bit deeper and you can find it out for yourself.

Hell is a punishment. However, it is not a negative reinforcement. Hell is referred to as the second death. From this death, there is no resurrection. We have this life to decide which side of the battle were on, and that's it. Christ did not come to bring peace, but separation and war.

Hell is a "scare tactic" created by first century Christians to herd people into the pews.. It's a cartoonish joke.. Like the devil..

"The devil" is a character from the book of Job.. Ha'Satan is the accusing angel, pointing out faults and weakness in pious people... It's not a monster that pokes people with pitchforks..

Discipline is training, discipline is meant to teach us how to behave and why. Punishment is given when discipline doesn't work, and its purpose is to punish, not teach.
