I will only need them for nine months but problem is i have just started doing modelling work and am worried how this will effect the work i get, can i still get away will it and keep my mouth closed for nine months?? lol...

I have the Invisaline braces and wear them at night and during the day when I'm not out. (I will have them for a total of 18 months)
You can remove them for eating and for your job.
You may be a perfect candidate since your teeth don't need a lot of correction.
Tom Cruise had them and his teeth look good to me.

The expanders aren't that bad. I haven't had one, but my friend has. Rubberbands don't hurt either. I'm not sure what you mean by powerchains, but if they're what I think they are, then yes you can wear rubberbands at the same time. Braces hurt a lot for the first week or so, but after a while you get used to them. Just take a lot of Advil and eat really soft foods.

The sooner your teeth are sorted the better, its only nine months.. you can get those braces at the back of your teeth these days can't you?

Sorry to be a downer, but I have braces and in most cases it shows. Your mouth pouts out (and not in a sexy, sulky way, either) and, btw, it would be awfully hard to keep your mouth shut for 9 months.

You might want to look into invisible braces, or the ones with the least amount of show possible.

Have you considered InvisAlign or another similar non-visible contraption?
