Have you never played with a toy boat in a bathtub?
...
On casual day, our zoo keeper lets us play with toy boats in the Shark aquarium.
Someone gave me a thumbs down. I wonder what upset them.
Maybe I should have said, " put a toy boat in a recessed area of the ground. Now, simply pour water on it from a watering can to simulate rain. Do this for forty minutes to simulate 40 days. You will see the boat float, and rise to water level. Then after about 7minutes (simulating 7 days) the boat will land close to where it started from.
For Morons: Duh, the boat had no sails, or oars, or motor. So when the rain came its only purpose was to float. Get it?

Nemesis, you're incorrect. You assume that the Earth's topography was similar to the topography we have today, However, it wouldn't have been, mainly bc the tectonic activity which would have accompanied the Flood would have altered the Earth's surface. If you flatten the Earth out, filling in the seabasins with the mountains, etc, the Earth will be covered in water to a depth of 1.7 miles. The water is still there.
Try the website for more information. Most or all of the articles are written by Ph.D. level scientists.
By the way, ppl have analyzed the size of the Ark, and have calculated that it could have taken waves up to 30 meters.

Wrong! Firstly, the whole earth was covered with seawater, so there was no way Noah would have been able to determine how he far he had sailed unless he knew how to naivigate by the stars. Secondly, they were all in the ark longer than 40 days, I think it was just over a year. Because the Ark was drifting (there is no indication it was anchored to one spot), unrestrained tidal movements (the land masses were all covered up) would have meant a 99.9% chance he ended up more than "500 miles" away from where he started.

Yes, he had an anchor. What I want to know is where did all the water come from. And where is it now. If you could squeeze all the juice out of the Earth's entire atmosphere you couldn't cause a flood deep enough to cover even the shortest mountains.
I understand Noah went down to Australia to get his kangaroos, okay I'll grant you that, but where did all the water come from. Did God borrow it from the planet Boglog?

They were not in a motorboat and there were no reason to believe they were in a strong current. They could have just went around in a circle There is no reason to believe they landed close to the same place anyway.

The flood is an impossibility. There is no way that water could have covered the world to the depth believed. There is just not enough water

Wow, I never thought of that in my arguments! Thanks. The fact that the boat had to be as big as manhattan Island and the fact that it was built out of wood drastically cotradict each other. No vessel that big could be built out of wood and hold together!
Let alone if you add that a planet without land will have Ginormic waves that no wooden boat could withstand... well now we have a working theory that does not hold water!

i think the fact that Noah actually managed to gather a pair of every living thing on earth and fit them all on one ship, with out them all eating each other/ dieing from starvation, is way more absurd.
