How harmful would it be to a 7 week old Shih Tzu puppy to have it' s 1st vaccinations within 3 days of each other? What side effects would it cause if any? Is there anything to counteract the harmful effects (if any )of duplicate vaccinations?

What do you mean "first set of vaccines within 3 days of each other"??? Did it get one set at 7 weeks and get the SAME again three days later???????
If that is the case, it is not GREAT, but should not cause any harm.

It probably will not hurt it, but there is no point to it. It may make them a little sick because of the strain on the immune system. There really ins't anything to counteract the duplicate vaccinations. My vet gave one of my puppies a vacc. about a week after the breeder gave it one, and I didn't have any problems. I think that he did it to make sure that the puppy would be okay, just in case the first vacc. failed. Vaccinations can fail when given too early, when they have not be kept refrigerated, and if they were overly diluted (which breeders do sometimes to save money by only giving a partial dose).

Puppies do not need their vaccinations until they are about 3 months old. The antibodies in their mothers milk protects them.
