When people ask questions on here, but they state who they do or do not want to answer their question. If you only want a single point of view, maybe this isn't the place to find it. This question is open to anyone that cares.

Sure it bugs everyone, but everyone also knows that it will always happen even if they are the one asking.

If they really only wanted one point of view they could go to a group that is set up for that type of person.

Don't ever think that someone doesn't care about what you are thinking. Your opinions no matter how small, no matter how narrow will help to shape the opinions of others at any given time. This makes your opinion very powerful and important.

sometimes, when the question is a very general one.

but as a Celtic Pagan, if i have a question about the beliefs of the Wiccans, i want the Wiccans to answer. i do not need the
barrage of Christian "who cares it is all satanic" answers.
or the Atheist "all religion is a fraud" answers.

if i put in a question Wiccans? what is your belief on the afterlife?

Christian and atheist answers will be largely ignored (with the exception of the few scholar type athiest's that we have that have studied many religions.)

People learn more by listening to views different from their own so asking people with similar opinions will provide almost nothing except reinforcement of otheir own opinions. This is what many christians want though.

Maybe their faith is weak and could not withstand different opinions

It is helpful to do this if you are trying to defend or protect a delusion.

Its like the old story about keeping your head buried in the sand.

If you only listen to those with a similar delusion it is a lot easier to hang on to yours.

yeah it's kind of annoying but at the same time ironic due to the fact that this is the religious and spirituality section and is an open forum for everybody regardless of their religious or nonreligious beliefs to ask and answer questions

Nah, because if, for instance, someone asked for some Bible verses for some situation, they don't want atheists and others to come in and insult them and call them names. They just want the Bible verses, not the rude opinions. That's one example where the person probably only wants ONE sided opinions. So no, it doesn't bug me in the least.

I only mind when someone answers with sarcasm...different points of view will always exist, but no one is asking to be insulted.

No, it doesn't bug me because few (if any) truly come to this forum seeking answers. Their primary purpose is to state their position and find a few to support it, and find a few to ridicule and feel better about themselves.
