Hi all, heres the deal. My husband, twin b babies and I are invited to a Xmas dinner. Its pot luck. There was no mention of gifts. Should I get one? We're not christian so im not sure of the ettiquette. She has two small boys. Shall I get something for them? Or just something like a houseplant? Oh, Alcohol isnt an option.
I'm just worried Ill show up with nothing and she'd have gotten something for my little boys. Any not too expensive ideas?

Non-alcoholic sparkling apple or raspberry juice is good.
Bouquet of flowers.
Tin of gourmet cookies or box of See's candy if you know they eat sweets (don't give this if you don't know they are in good health, like one has diabetes or something)
Small basket of fruit. You can make this yourself, small wicker basket, add a couple of pears, couple of apples or oranges to a bed of colored tissue paper, tape up the tissue paper around the fruit and put a self-sticking bow on the top.
A bottle of nice-smelling hand soap for their kitchen counter (this goes over really well as a hostess gift, for some reason -- nobody expects it)
A bottle of "gourmet" water, like Pellegrino or Perrier
