she's in her 12th day of her heat cycle and we have had no progress. all she seems to want to do is play... she is trying to hump the male instead of him humping her...

Again no age of the dogs. That part of the info will help. The 12th day she is in her prime. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. Let nature take it course. You didn't say if you own both male and female, sometimes it takes all day for them to tie sometimes it takes a few minutes. They will play that is part of the courting process. Just keep them together if it doesn't happen this time then maybe next time. They just might be to young too. My female wouldn't breed with any ones dog I had to go buy her a husband lol. I really wish people would stop the with hole gay dog thing!!!!!!!!!! I have dogs there that even when they are ready they don't want to get bred. Where we have to try and hold them still. Alot of time I will just A.I. them.

The one time my Lixie did not like Robbie and she told him so. He has never bred on this own agian.

You need to find a real man dog. He sounds like a sissy. He should just pin her down and have at it. Its not like they need romance they are dogs.

our ***** was very very fussy even when she was on heat, she always chose her mate despite our pleadings the dog next door had beautiful brown eyes and a nice temperament! She waited for her scruffy tatty and bad mannered hound to turn up and like magic he would wherever we lived!
