I believe I answered this when you asked how long bleeding lasts.
Females go into heat about every 6 months. and the heat cycle lasts for 21days.
The heat cycle of the female dog has three parts and lasts about 3 weeks.
The first part lasts anywhere from 3-14 days during which a bloody discharge and swelling of the vaginal area are usually seen.
Next the dog will become receptive to being bred and actively may seek out a male dog. This is the time when she can become pregnant. The discharge may change color at this time and become lighter.
Finally, the discharge will become clearer, the vaginal swelling will diminish and the dog will no longer allow herself to be bred.
While your dog is in heat you must watch her carefully to avoid unwanted breeding and subsequent puppies. If you are not planning on breeding your dog, please have her spayed to help prevent unwanted puppies. I will also lower her risk to several types of cancer.

It last 2-3 weeks. The dogs first go threw a bleeding stage that lasts 7-10 days, then they go threw a phase where they actually can be bred that lasts another 7-10 days. After that they come out of heat and almost always have some level of a false pregnancy (from just a little weight gain and nipple enlargement, to just like a full blown pregnancy).

Amy are you going to breed that lab? If not, most vets will accept her and perform the spay even when she is in heat (3 weeks total) for a small extra fee. While you hop off your computer and make that appointment, make sure to keep her contained and not in contact at all with any other dogs. Fights can ensue, lawsuits against you can be levied, and people as well as dogs can be hurt ..somtimes badly.
Preventing unwanted puppies and possible death from pregnancy complications is all part of owning a dog.Step up and Fix her.

A dog is in heat for three (3) weeks. At the end of the first week her discharge to a wheatish clearer red, the next week is when she will usually allow a mount and should be under a well watchful eye, the last week she will loose the swelling of her vulva.
Some dogs will allow a mount at anytime during their heat and should be watched.
I hope this helped.

some days to a week. My terrific suggestion is to get her spayed. this could administration her hormones and make her lots calmer throughout her warmth. this will additionally help preclude an undesirable super muddle of domestic dogs. help administration the puppy inhabitants! Spaying is a ordinary technique this is oftentimes very incredibly priced.
