In a relationship how do you know when you are in love with someone?

When she (applying to men) wears your shirts or jumpers and you think it cool.

Well, since you asked for reference to our own experience.. love is when your heart skips a beat, when all you want to do is hide in their arms, watch the sun set and get to know them. Sex doesn't matter until way later (for me, after marriage). Right now, I just want to call my sweetie and make sure he's okay or I email him and tell him to have a good day and he likes that. It's when you care about someone deeply that you put them first in your life (along with family/religion, depends). They're like your other part, they know you in and out and you crave to just be with them; you don't need words to fill up the air, just to be held. Or when you smile just thinking about being with them. That's love for me, that's my description.

Me and my boyfriend live apart, when we meet up theres such an energy there, i used to be quite shy but when hes around i come out of my shell. but when we leave each other to go home, its so hard, i cry every time.

You love them if you can spend the whole day with them, and then go home and still talk to them for hours on the phone. You love them if they make you feel complete. You love them if you dream about them. You love them if you yearn to touch and kiss them if they are anywhere in sight. You love them if you like certain scents, simply because that scent reminds you of them. You love them if their touch makes you melt. You love when when your feelings are so strong for them, sometimes it hurts. You love them when you try to figure out other ways of saying how much you care, other than words. You love them when just thinking about them makes you smile. You love them when you notice their name in every book, billboard, magazine, store, etc. You love them when you hear a love song, and they are the only person that comes to your mind. You love them when everything, in some way, reminds you of them. You love them when all you want for them is their happiness, and you will do almost anything to make them happy. Likewise, you love them when you hurt when they are hurting.

The list can go on and on, but the feeling is the same: that undeniable feeling of deep happiness and attraction you feel towards a person in each of these situations.

I've felt each and every one of these with my current boyfriend of 8 months, and I can't think of it as anything else BUT love. You'll know when you fall in love. Sometimes it can be confusing, but overall, when you know, you KNOW.
