I think some guys feel pressure from their friends if they don't like the girl they are dating. I also think f they are young they are attracted to a lot of people and may just jump into relationships not realizing that most girls want to be dating for a while...if it is a nice guy. Others can just be fickle, wanting what they can't have - getting it and then wanting someone else.

it's weird. some guys, though they are SO happy when they're with their girl, will just somehow get to the point where they suddenly think they want to be single. or to just be on the hunt again. we can be complete morons like that.
i've never gotten to that point myself...but i'm sure that for young guys, who don't really know about maintaining a relationship they just don't know what to do anymore. it can come about with boredom, or fear, or just...stupidity? and in the end, it's OK if the girl wants to talk them back into it. as long as they think they can keep the relationship interesting for both of them.
