This designates that is is a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Same reason Toyota puts TRD on there trucks this specifies which ones are TuRD's and which one's aren't.

Like vmaxer85 said, it means that the vehicle has 4 wheels and all 4 wheels are "drive" wheels. A 2WD pickup is technically a 4X2. That means there are 4 wheels and 2 of them are drive wheels. And the military have 6X6s. They have 6 wheels (2 front wheels and 2 rear axles with 2 wheels each) that all 6 are drive wheels. Other makes have 4wd vehicles, it's just that GM and Ford choose to point theirs out more by having the decals on them.

Because it has Four Wheel Drive, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, pretty much everycompany that makes trucks has some or all in 4 wheel dirve. It's that Ford and GM put decals on to show it. there are other companies that do that too.

ahhh cause this means it is a 4 wheel drive. 4 wheels and all four wheels drive it forward.this is the meaning of that symbol. 4X4.

4x4 means four wheel drive. the sticker looks cool on it so they just do it for the looks.

im not real sure of this, but my 75 chevy when I press the gas only the back wheels spin and theres nothing on my tranny hump in the floor for 4 wheel drive..... hmm not sure....
