I would have to have more information. I haven't seen anything like this on a stereo.

Yes it is Electronic skip protection.

usually it works by reading ahead on your cd and buffering about 10 seconds of audio in some built in memory.

that way when you hit that speed bump at 100miles an hour, the stored information on the memory can be played.

Electronic Skip protection, it plays your CD's even if you hit a bump, they usually put it in portable cd players.
