In order to avoid theological debates, heated arguments, people getting upset and wishy-washy sitting on the fence i have decided to limit the answers to either a 'yes' or a 'no' answer. nice and easy!

i am sorry if anyone is annoyed that they think i dont believe in a God. i am not sure what i believe but i was merely curious to see people's response and the way nearly half of you have failed to stick to 'yes' or'no'! but you have all failed to stick to the task with good intentions so i thank you!

It's not a yes or no -- a Zen master would throw it back on you because your question involves perceptions and ideas. Does God exist? What God? Is it one that is a deity that rewards and punishes? Is it a being that is completely non-personal? Is it the substratum of everything? Is it the wholeness/unity described by quantum physics? Is it that which has always been? If someone says 'yes', what does that mean? Is it hope? Is it conditioned belief? Is it a desire for eternal life? The only way to answer this question is to have a DIRECT experience (enlightenment). Read '3 Pillars of Zen' for a Zen perspective on this (although this experience has been had by people of all and no religions).

Based upon the lack of evidence the answer has to be no. It's true I can't see the air but I can measure it's constituent, (oxgen etc). Evidence, that's what I need. Until then the answer's NO.

P.S. Sorry it wasn't a one word answer

The real question is do you "Believe" ? No one can answer that question for you. But for me personally I'm a s"Strong Believer in God" So one can't give you the answer that you want everyone has their own beliefs. No one can argue this. I hope that you find your answer in time. And I hope that "Your God is with you".
