I am trying to get any tips on how to spike marashino cherries. I am hoping that someone will be able to provide me with a great recipe. I dont know for sure what type of alcohol would work best...or would result in the best flavor. Ive found a few recipes that call for everclear, however I am not a fan of it. Any suggestions, tips, or help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The best alcohol that I've personally used is Vodka. There are PLENTY of varieties and flavors to choose from. If you like spicy things, try the pepper vodka. If you like sweet things, try vanilla. Of course, you could let the cherries do the work and use the plain stuff. Depending on the size jar of cherries you are planning to use, drain the juice into a glass and set it aside. Fill the jar with vodka about half inch below the top of jar. Pour in some saved cherry juice for color and flavor. Let it sit for as long as possible. The longer the better. If you have the time, like after the holidays, get a jar and dehydrate them and then pour the vodka on them and let them sit til NEXT Christmas. They'll be DAVINE!!

Use a toothpick and spear it through several cherries, (3 or so per toothpick). Then place the cherry toothpicks in a bowl of clear Bacardi 151 rum. Let them soak for several hours. Rum is a great liquor to use for this -- and 151 if you want them to be powerfully spiked! You can also try using Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum for an interesting twist, but they won't be as strong. Have fun!

In order to spike them, you just need to soak them overnight. You can use any alcohol that you prefer (usually rum or vodka). I like to soak not only cherries, but pineapple and melon too. Yum!

I've had them with grand manier, blue curacao & amaretto flavor

The inportan thing to know is to warm up the liquor a bit then add the cherries (without their syrope), let it cool totally, jar then and put them onthe fridge for at least 24hrs. then enjoy them.
