their daughter and daughter -in-law. The Moms complain that the food is not cooked just right, that the silver is not correct, that the coffee is not good, that you dont have the kind of cream they want, that your decor is not right and my Mom critizes the way Im dressed my hair and my weight,
What is the real problem here. I hate to get together with either one of them. I feel like a nervous wreck.
is this their way of putting you down as they are jealous that it is your home and you are the one in charge now? Is it that they dislike you. Is it a way to get attention? It makes me not want to include them in any more holidays.

Ok I have totally been there - could never do anything right for my mother-in-law. I realized finally that she wasn't happy with herself and also that she was jealous of my relationship with her son (weird, I know but true). Finally my husband had to talk to her about it. I would always end up in tears after hearing mean things from her so he decided to clear the air. She got mad and didn't speak to us for a while but after hearing this from others, too she realized she was in the wrong. Maybe it is time to ask someone to speak up for you...if a few talk to them maybe they will mellow out. Hang in there!

That's their job as being women. Some people are just rude and some don't realize how far is to far. Just tell them this is the way "I" like it and I thought about doing something to help your. Then ask to borrow $1000 and they'll run as fast as they can.

They are jealous. I have a sister in law like that. Just don't go around them and have fun with others.

It makes them feel in control...
Get control, tell them, they either behave, or they are totally unwelcome, - and make it stick.
If they come and start up, get up and point to the door until they either leave or pipe down.

Some people are so miserable with their own lives, that they want others to be miserable too. I don't blame you for not wanting to invite them, maybe if you didn't they would get the picture.

Control and jealousy. What can I say. It sucks to grow old and see the next generation having all the fun...

They're only trying to do their best to teach their daughters. After all, you are both women.
